Earlier in the first innings, the Black Caps scored 254 runs for 10 wickets in 49.2 overs.
Wicketkeeper batter Tom Blundell scored the highest 68 runs off 66 balls and top-order batter Henry Nicholls scored 49 runs from 61 balls.
