Bashundhara Shuvosangho members distributed quality meals for free among at least 80 destitute people in Bogura town railway station area past midnight on Wednesday, marking the World Food Day.
The underprivileged people were about to lie down to sleep on their makeshift beds, many with empty stomachs, when Bashundhara Shuvosangho members approached them with food items.
Naturally many were caught awestruck at the sight of the members, and subsequently the emotions turned into outbursts of delight.
An elderly man said, “Nobody inquires about us. I am very happy to learn that you people care for us. I sincerely pray that the Almighty give you peace and tranquillity.”
A little girl chipped in to announce her pleasure. “After a long time, I would get to eat some good food,” she said while expressing gratitude to Bashundhara Shuvosangho members.
Present at the food distribution programme were Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Bogura district unit General Secretary Ashfaq-ur-Rahman Chandan, Joint-General Secretary Raihan Siddiqui Sajal, Publication Secretary Sharifur Rashid Rumel as well as other members like Siam, Saikat, Nafiz, Akib, Nahid and more.
