Shabnur is one of the most prominent film actors in the country. The versatile artiste completed 31 years of her acting career on Tuesday.
Shabnur began her film career with "Chandni Raat-e," which was released on October 15, 1993. In this Ehtesham-directed film, she starred alongside co-actor Shabbir.
On the occasion of 31 years in film industry, the talented actor shared her feelings in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Shabnur said, “I started my film journey on 15 October 1993 with noted filmmaker Ehtesham- directed movie “Chandni Raate”. Alhamdulillah, I’ve completed 31 years in the industry with everyone’s love. By the grace of almighty and everyone’s prayers, I’m still alive with enough respect in films. I’m indebted to all of my producers, directors, co-artistes, screenwriters, playback singers, cameramen and others involved during the long journey of my career. I also express my gratitude to my viewers and countless fans for their love and support. Because of them I’m today’s Shabnur.”
“Ever since I joined the social media, I have always realised that the audience’s love towards me has not changed, but is growing. Your love for me will hopefully continue in the future. I also express special gratitude to my journalist brothers and sisters. Endless love to all, best wishes to all”, she added.
The audience-admired actor came into limelight by acting with Salman Shah in the movie “Tumi Aamar”. Then, Shabnur and Salman Shah starred in a total of 14 films, including, “Shopner Thikana”, “Tomake Chai”, “Shopner Prithibi”, “Jibon Shongshar” and “Ananda Asru”. The duo is considered one of the most popular pairs in the history of the Bangladeshi film industry.She also acted with others several actors like Amin Khan, Omar Sani, Riaz, Shakil Khan, Manna, Ferdous Ahmed and Shakib Khan.
Shabnur has acted in a total of 158 films in her career. Among them, some notable films are “Swapner Thikana”, “Swapner Prithibi”, “Swapner Nayok”, “Tomake Chai”, “Tumi Amar”, “Ananda Ashru”, “Prem Piyasi”, ‘Sujon Shokhi”, “Jibon Sangshar”, “Moha Milon”, “Bichar Hobe”, “Dui Noyoner Alo”, “Molla Barir Bou”, “Shoshur Bari Zindabad”, “Shundori Bodhu”, “Phul Nebe Na Ashru Nebe”, “Premer Tajmahal”, “Prithibi Tomar Amar”, “Ek Takar Bou”, “Kothin Prem” and others.
The actress won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film “Dui Noyoner Alo” in 2005.
On the work front, Shabnur stood before camera early this year for the shooting of Arafat Hossain-directed movie “Rangana” after a long hiatus.
The actor is in talk to appear in Chayanika Chowdhury’s next “Matal Hawa” opposite Mahfuz Ahmed.
