Barrister Shahjahan Omar, former MP for Jhalakathi-1 constituency, has been arrested.
Rajapur police apprehended him on Thursday morning (Nov 21).
On the morning of the same day, while traveling from Barishal to Rajapur in Jhalakathi, Barrister Shahjahan Omar’s vehicle was attacked in the Pingri area. The attack left his car heavily damaged and in ruins, and Omar himself was injured.
After the incident, he went to the police station to file a complaint. However, he was arrested by the police in connection with an existing case registered against him at Kathalia Police Station.
Additional SP Mohitul Islam confirmed that former MP Barrister Shahjahan Omar has been arrested, and that there is an ongoing regular case against him at Kathalia Police Station.
