Bangladesh cricket Board (BCB) has suspended head coach Chandika Hathurusingha from his duties with immediate effect.
This decision was made ahead of series against South Africa.
A show cause notice has also issued to him.
BCB president Faruque Ahmed said this in a press conference in Mirpur on Tuesday.
BCB president said, "We were trying to solve the problems with the current coach. Two or three incidents happened. It was not a good example for the team. Show cause notice and suspension have been issued.”
Chandika Hathurusingha was the head coach of the Bangladesh national team in the first term from June 2014 to October 2017. But midway through the service contract, Hathurusingha left Bangladesh quite suddenly. Then in 2023, Lankan coach Chandika Hathurusinghe became the coach of Bangladesh for the second term. His contract was due until February 2025. However, he was dismissed without completing the term as per the contract.
