As the season transitions to winter in mid-autumn, the Bashundhara Shuvosangho's Jatrabari Thana unit has taken an initiative for underprivileged children.
They distributed winter protection materials—lip gel, shampoo, cream, and oil—among the students of Amader Bidyaniketan, a school for street children located in Dholaipar, Dhaka on Saturday.
Under the leadership of Abdul Hannan Milton, president of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Jatrabari Thana unit, these materials were provided to around 50 students.
He said, “Bashundhara Shuvosangho organises various initiatives nationwide for the welfare of underprivileged children. Today, we have been able to educate these children about the importance of cleanliness and self-care. These materials may bring a smile to their faces, and that's all we hope for.”
Amader Bidyaniketan’s director Rana and teacher Talha were present during the event.
Rana thanked Bashundhara Shuvosangho, stating, "This initiative will benefit the children. If more organizations like Shuvosangho come forward, the children will be more motivated, and dropout rates will decrease. We all need to think about these underprivileged children."
Ashik Ahmed, organisational secretary of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Jatrabari Thana unit, expressed gratitude to all members of the organization and emphasized the importance of being more involved in such positive activities.
