Shuvosangho, the country’s one of the leading social welfare platforms sponsored by Bashundhara Group, provided educational materials to madrasa students of Bochaganj Upazila in Dinajpur on Friday.
The volunteers of the platform distributed education supplies to at least 30 students of Khadijatul Kubra (Ra:) Mahila Madrasha located in the Setabganj Municipality area under the upazila with a view to inspire and encourage the madrasa students to continue their studies.
Mashrif Hasan Rumon, general secretary of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Bochaganj branch, stated that they have plans to conduct awareness-building meetings against the use of drugs and seminars on cyber security awareness at all educational institutions in the region.
Azad Ali Japan, president of the upazila branch, said, “We have previously distributed several school bags and education materials among students of various educational institutions in the area to encourage them to continue their studies.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he said, “We distributed food to the underprivileged people in our area and provided them with warm clothing in the winter season. We engaged many people in tree planting and seed sowing and organised awareness-building meetings to prevent drug use and child marriage.”
“We have also distributed vegetable seeds to farmers in the area. We are pleased to be able to help the poor people through these efforts,” he said.
Etihad Azad Dihan, organizational secretary of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Bochaganj branch, among others, was present during the programme.
