Shahana Begum, a resident of Dhaka's Manipur area, has been facing a prolonged food crisis while caring for her ailing husband and two children.
As the sole breadwinner for her family, Shahana works as a domestic helper to support her husband and children.
Due to financial instability, Shahana frequently encounters food shortages. With her husband unable to work, the family lacks a consistent income. Consequently, she juggles her responsibilities as a homemaker while her earnings barely cover the household expenses.
In these circumstances, she has to pass through a challenging situation constantly to provide food support to her family.
In information, a team of Shuvosangho friends visited her and handed food support over to her on Thursday.
They provided her with essential food items, including rice, lentils, oil, flour, and potatoes and upon getting the support, Shahana expressed her gratitude to Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
The Shuvosangho volunteers said that they are committed to standing by the helpless, underprivileged, and low-income individuals in society.
This noble initiative of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho plays a significant role in improving the quality of life for marginalised communities in the country, they said after handing over the food aids to Shahana.
