Malaika Chowdhury, the younger sister of renowned actress Mehazabien Chowdhury, is making her entry into the entertainment world. She will appear opposite actor Farhan Ahmed Jovan in the drama "Sandhikhan."
The drama, based on the story of Mehazabien Chowdhury, is written and directed by Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz. Filming for the drama started in the capital on Thursday.
Commenting on the drama featuring Malaika, director Raz said, “It is not like I gave her a chance because she is Mehazabien’s sister. The story I heard from Mehazabien demanded a new face. In this case, Malaika’s name came to my mind. She has acting talent. I believe Malaika will be able to win the hearts of the audience.”
Malaika has earlier modeled for an advertisement directed by Adnan Al Rajeev. About her acting debut she shared, “I feel very excited during shooting. Knowing that the story of my elder sister and the direction of Raz Bhai will be combined, I agreed to act in this play. As a co-artiste Jovan bhai is helping me a lot. I will be looking forward to knowing the audience’s reaction to my performance.”
