Ekushey Award winner eminent drama actor and director Jamal Uddin Hossain died on Friday evening in Canada.
He breathed his last while being in treatment in Rockyview Hospital in Canada.
At the time of his death, he left behind two children, his wife and many well-wishers.
Son Tashfin Hossain confirmed the news of his father's death to the media. He said that last June, his father Jamal Uddin Hossain came from Atlanta of USA to visit his home in Calgary of Canada. Meanwhile, on September 18, his father suddenly felt ill and he was admitted to the hospital. After the examination done, the doctors said that his father had a urine infection. Later he was diagnosed with pneumonia and ouldn't breathe normally. After that the doctors decided to put him on ventilation. He was on life support for so long. When life support was opened on Friday morning local time in Canada, his heartbeat became unstable. He later breathed his last at Calgary's Rockyview Hospital at 6pm on Friday.
Tashfin also said that his father was 81 years old at the time of his death. He had suffered two strokes before. Besides, he got prostate cancer during period of covid-19.
