BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Monday said Awami League leaders and workers still have illegal firearms in their hands.
“Media reports revealed that the law enforcement agencies couldn’t yet recover the 1,888 arms, licenses of those have already been cancelled. These arms are still being used against the people,” he told while speaking at a donation handover ceremony at Chak Akash Tara village under Sabgram union in Bogura Sadar upazila.
Under the arrangement of “Amra BNP Paribar”, on behalf of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, donations were handed over to families of martyrs Kamar Uddin Khan, Shakil Hossain and Zillur Rahman who were killed during the students-people movement in Bogura, BSS reports.
BNP Treasurer and “Amra BNP Paribar” Adviser M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bokul and organization’s convener journalist Atiqur Rahman Rumon also spoke, among others.
Rizvi Ahmed said fascist and terrorist Awami League leaders and activists launched attacks on Swechchhasebak Dal leaders and activists in Gopalganj using arms.
“We are getting reports of using such arms in other districts as well,” he said
He questioned the interim government why these arms have not yet been recovered.
Noting that Awami League men have lakhs of crores of black money in their hands, he said different responsible media reported that the autocrat Sheikh Hasina government took loans of Tk 18.35 lakh crore and of the amount, Tk 17.60 lakh crore was laundered.
“Then where is the development? Rest of the money is in hands of Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League leaders and their businessmen. This money is being used in terrorist activities which we saw in Gopalganj,” he said.
Rizvi said, “Few days ago, I heard that Sheikh Hasina is staying near the border. She is preparing to return home. Being informed, her terrorist gang has again resorted to the path of bloodbath which we saw in Gopalganj.”
If Sheikh Hasina returns home, more mass-killing will take place in the country, he feared.
