Around Tk 10,000 crore development expenditures under the Annual Development Program (ADP) have decreased in the first four months (July to October) of the current fiscal year.
ADP implementation has been Tk 21978.17 crore or 7.90 per cent in the first four months which was Tk 31,692.26 crore during the same period of the 2023-24 fiscal. The amount is Tk 9,714.09 crore or 30.65 per cent less than the July-October period of the last fiscal.
The Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) under the Ministry of Planning revealed the information on Sunday (November 24).
According to the IMED, Tk 11,798 crore from internal sources, Tk 8,210 crore from foreign loans and Tk 1,970 crore from own funds of implementing agencies have been expensed to implement the ADP in the last four months.
The size of the ADP is Tk 2 lakh 78 thousand 288.90 crore in the current fiscal year while the number of total projects is 1,352.
The ministries, departments and directorates had expensed Tk 18,813 crore from the state exchequer in the first four months of the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The cost of around Tk 7,000 crore has declined in the current financial year.
The expenditure from the foreign aid sector decreased by Tk 3,654 crore in the first four months of the last financial year. However, expenditure from the organizations' fund has increased by Tk 955 crore.
