Great Language Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day was observed in Rajshahi city through various programs. District administration arranged the programs. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahrier Alam, Divisional Commissioner GSM Zafrullah, and Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil along with people from all walks of life paid their homage by placing wreaths at the Rajshahi Shaheed Minar at one minute past 12 last night.
Besides, the Rajshahi district and city Awami League brought out a rally which started from Kumarpara and ended at Rajshahi College Shaheed Minar premise parading various streets in the city.
Ekushey programs started at the zero hours of Tuesday at Chattogram Central Shaheed Minar.

The day was also observed in Mymensingh with due respect and love. State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed first paid homage to the language heroes at Town Hall central Shaheed Minar early Tuesday.
Later, lawmaker Monira Sultana Moni, City mayor Ikramul Haque Titu, Divisional Commissioner Shafiqur Reza Biswas, Range DIG, police super and people from all walks of life paid tributes by placing floral wreaths.
