Member of the Department of Narcotics Control (Dhaka Metro Motijheel Circle) arrested seven individuals, including three women for their involvement in a narcotics home delivery network operating across various areas of Dhaka city, reports UNB.
During the operations, authorities seized 1,670 yaba pills, 7 grammess of crystal meth (ice), and 190 tapentadol tablets, a controlled narcotic substance.
The arrestees were identified as Akhi Akter (34), Md. Ripon Ali (36), Rifat Rahman Rodela (27), Mohammad Ali Mukul (38), Md. Afif Aftaf (51), Anwara Aleya Begum (32), and Neyamat Hossain (30).
On November 30, a team led by Inspector Mohammad Kamruzzaman of Dhaka Metro (South) arrested Akhi Akter with 50 yaba pills at 63/1 Badda Nagar Lane of Hazaribagh Police Station. On the same day, Md Ripon Ali was arrested with 1,450 yaba pills at West Nakhalpara, Belal Mosque Road, under the Tejgaon Police Station.
On December 1, a team from the Demra Circle of Dhaka Metro (South), led by Inspector Md Khairul Alam, arrested Rifat Rahman Rodela with seven grammes of methamphetamine-containing crystal meth (ice) in front of the gate of the 250-bed TB Hospital in Shyamoli.
On December 2, another operation led by Inspector Mohammad Enamul Haque of the Dhaka Metro (South) Green Road Circle resulted in the arrest of Anwara Aleya Begum with 110 yaba pills at the Mir Hajirbagh Pipe Area in the Shyampur Police Station.
Additionally, a team led by Inspector Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman of the Dhaka Metro (South) Khilgaon Circle arrested Neyamat Hossain with 190 tapentadol tablets (100 mg) at Bismillah Pharmacy and Department Store at Sector 10 in Dhaka’s Uttara.
