Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus was deeply moved after hearing the struggles of aspiring entrepreneurs. He remarked, “Your life stories are incredibly inspiring. I am delighted to meet you. Please share with us what more can be done to support entrepreneurs.”
On Saturday evening, the Chief Adviser held a meeting with aspiring entrepreneurs at the state guesthouse Jamuna, where 15 male and female entrepreneurs participated.
During the meeting, the entrepreneurs shared their stories of striving to achieve financial independence. They sought advice from the Chief Adviser on various matters.
The entrepreneurs detailed how investments from the Grameen Telecom Trust, established in 2010 to promote social business, helped them to become self-dependent. They expressed their gratitude to Professor Muhammad Yunus for his support.
Most of the entrepreneurs who attended the meeting are running businesses with investments from Grameen Telecom Trust and Grameen Trust. Some have received investments five or six times.
The Chief Adviser was thrilled by their accounts and inquired what further measures could be taken to assist entrepreneurs.
“Your life stories are inspiring. I am glad to meet all of you. You’ve shared positive feedback and praise—now give us your advice. Let us know what more can be done for entrepreneurs.” said Dr. Yunus
The entrepreneurs recommended increasing awareness about the initiatives taken by Grameen Telecom Trust to promote social businesses for aspiring entrepreneurs. They feel that most people are unaware of these programs, and more promotion would benefit many underprivileged individuals.
They also urged the Chief Adviser to arrange appropriate training programs alongside providing investments.
They said, “A lot of entrepreneurs cannot expand their businesses because of their lack of skill. If workshops can be organized, then there will be more skilled and successful entrepreneurs in the district level.”
The Chief Adviser concluded, saying, “I have learned a lot from your discussions and suggestions today. We aim to build a poverty-free Bangladesh. We want to ensure that aspiring entrepreneurs do not face difficulties with their investments and can work securely. Today’s discussion has provided us with ideas for the future. Please stay connected with us.”
