Students from seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University gathered at the Nilkhet intersection in the capital on Monday, demanding separation from the university and the establishment of an independent institution, reports Dhaka Tribune.
Zakaria, a representative of the Seven College Reform Movement and a student of Kabi Nazrul Government College, said: “We, the students of the seven colleges, are organizing a human chain and protest in Nilkhet today with the goal of implementing three specific action plans as part of our demand for an autonomous university.”
The seven affiliated colleges are Begum Badrunnesa Government Girls' College, Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Government Titumir College, Government Bangla College, and Kabi Nazrul Government College.
