Zarif Abrar of Cantonment Officers Tennis Club and Sumaiya Akter of Jhalokathi Tennis Club emerged as the men's and women's singles champions, respectively, in the National Tennis Competition, which concluded at the National Tennis Complex in Ramna on Friday.
In the men's singles final, Zarif defeated Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan's (BKSP) Mahad Bin Malek 6-1, 6-3. Meanwhile, in the women's singles final, Sumaiya Akter overcame BKSP's Subarna Khatun with a 6-0, 6-4 victory to claim the title.
In the men's doubles final, the Md Rustam Ali and Milon Hossain from the American Club clinched the title by defeating Zarif Abrar and Md Sayem 7-6, 6-4.
In the women's doubles final, BKSP's Subarna Khatun and Jannatun Ferdous secured the championship, edging past Sumaiya Akter and Sushmita Sen of Jhalokathi Tennis Club in a hard-fought battle that ended 5-7, 7-5, 10-7.
