A new political party, National Citizens Party (NCP), has officially debuted under the initiative of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee on Friday.
Nahid Islam has been appointed as the convener of the new party and Akhtar Hossain has been appointed as the member secretary.
The name of the new party was officially announced at around 6:15 pm at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital.
Shaheed Md. Ismail Hasan Rabbi's sister Mim Akhtar announced the name of the party.
Later, Akhtar Hossain announced the names of other members of the partial committee. He announced the names of Samantha Sharmin and Ariful Islam Adeeb as the party's senior joint conveners, Dr. Tasneem Zara and Nahida Sarwar Nibha as senior joint member secretaries, Nasiruddin Patwari as chief coordinator, Abdul Hannan Masud as joint coordinator, Hasnat Abdullah as chief organizer (southern region) and Sarjis Alam as chief organizer (northern region).
Earlier, at 4:15 pm, the debut ceremony of the political party of the youth who led the July Uprising began on Manik Mia Avenue in front of the National Parliament Building.
