The Champions Trophy match between Bangladesh and Pakistan was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
Bangladesh and Pakistan were scheduled to face each other in their final Group A match on Thursday at 3 pm. But due to continuous rain in Rawalpindi, the toss of the match was not even held.
At 3:30 pm local time (4:30 pm Bangladesh time), the umpires officially declared the match abandoned without any hope of starting it. When the match was abandoned, the entire field was filled with water and it was still raining.
The two teams shared the points. However, this sharing of points cannot have any impact on the points table of Group A. Bangladesh lost to New Zealand in the previous match, and two semi-finalists were determined from this group. At the same time, Bangladesh was eliminated along with Pakistan. The match between India and New Zealand, who were already advanced to the semi-finals on Sunday, will be a fight to be the best in the group.
Pakistan and Bangladesh got one point each in a disappointing match. Earlier, the Australia-South Africa match in Rawalpindi was also abandoned due to adverse weather conditions.
