Another shameful performance of Bangladesh leaded them to suffer a huge defeat of 104 runs against South Africa in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
In the Group 2 match held at Sidney in Australia on Thursday, winning the toss, South Africa elected to bat first.
Blistering batting of one-downer Rilee Rossouw and opener Quinton de Kock took them to such a height which was seemingly impossible for Bangladesh’s fragile batters to chase down.
Rossouw hammered 109 from 56 balls, while de Kock put on 63 off 38 balls and SA scored 205 for 5, despite having just 29 runs in last 5 overs.
Shakib Al Hassan took 2 wickets for 33 for Bangladesh.
In reply, Bangladesh lost wickets regularly and all out in 16.3 overs scoring just 101 runs. Liton Das was top scorer for BD as he scored 34 off 31 balls.
Anrich Nortje brought havoc in Bangladesh batting line up by grabbing 4 wickets for just 10 runs, and Tabraiz Shamsi took 3 for 20.
