Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Thursday distributed educational materials for free among 150 young children studying at Marhum Mowlana Sultan Hossain Government Primary School, located in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram district.
The welfare organisation has been donating educational materials in different schools of the upazila for the past few years as part of its initiatives to support rural education.
In Thursday’s donation ceremony, present were: the organisation’s Lohagara upazila unit President Nahiyan Chowdhury, BNP’s upazila unit Convener Nazmul Mostafa Amin, Assistant Upazila Primary Education Officer ASM Monir Uddin, Union Parishad member Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal and the school’s Headmaster Muhammad Moinuddin.
BNP leader Nazmul Mostafa Amin said he became emotional after getting the chance to attend the educational material donation ceremony. He urged the students to study well as they are the future of Bangladesh and have a duty to take the country forward.
Assistant Upazila Primary Education Officer ASM Monir Uddin welcomed Shuvosangho’s educational material distribution initiative, saying it evidently motivated the little students to study well in the future.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho Lohagara Upazila Unit’s Advisory Council Member Engineer Zillur Rahman said the unit’s educational material donation activities would continue in the future.
