The Bashundhara Shuvosangho has organised an awareness building meeting with the students of Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar, calling upon them to come out of the auto-pass mentality and examination anxiety.
The volunteers of the upazila unit arranged the event at the hall room of Nabin Chandra Govt. Model High School on Monday with the theme ‘Let our students be truly talented.’
With the power of the intellect and talented student, we will achieve global leadership. The future generation will be even more talented and creative, observed the meeting.
Former teacher of the Social Science Department of Eakub-Tajul Women's College, Prof Rajat Kanti Bhattacharjee attended the programme as chief the discussant with Abul Kashem Osmani, president of the upazila unit of Shuvosangho in the chair.
Mohiuddin Ripon, general secretary of the social welfare platform moderated the event.
Md Amir Hossain, headmaster of Nabin Chandra Govt. Model High School, Sohel Ahmed, its assistant teacher and Nazmul Bari Sohel, general secretary of the upazila press club and Mahfuz Shakil, Shuvosangho adviser and local correspondent of the daily Kaler Kantho, among others spoke the programme. Over 150 students attended the programme voluntarily.
In his speech, Prof Rajat Kanti called upon the students to come out of their mentality of the auto-pass system that was introduced against the backdrop of the recent student movement that ensured the overthrow of the fascist Awami League government.
Highlighting his academic achievements, he said none can evaluate the student’s skills, merit, thinking process, creative mentality through the auto-pass system.
“We must enrich ourselves with knowledge on various issues while also gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves through study. Without this, we will struggle to compete in the world or lead our nation in the future,” he said.
