Mabrur Rashid Bannah is one of the most popular small screen directors in the country. Two years ago, the talented maker said that he is ready to make a film. “My story is ready for the movie. After two Eid festivals, I will start the project. If Allah wants, something good will happen.”
However, more than two years have passed since the two Eids, but there has been no update from the director about the film.
This time, the director gave new news about the movie. He will make a film based on the anti-fascist mass movement and genocide of 2024. The TV director revealed this in a Facebook post on Monday. “I started working on a film about the anti-fascist mass movement and genocide in July. Pre-production of the project is going on”, the post reads.
Recently, filmmaker Raihan Rafi also announced the making of a film on the July-August mass uprising. In addition, director Ashfaque Nipun also expressed his interest in creating content on the student movement. Now, Bannah has joined that list.
Mabrur Rashid Bannah is such a type of small screen director that, the viewer always looks forward to seeing his works. As a director Bannah has carved a place in the minds of the audience as his works are synonymous with perfection. He has been presenting wonderful dramas since 2011.
Among the dramas aired last Eid, Bannah-directed “Akkhep” caught the eye of the audience. The story of the play revolves around a father and an autistic child. Actor Musfiq R Farhan has played the autistic character in the drama. Earlier, Farhan was widely praised for Bannah’s play “Sweeper”.
After the huge success of “Akkhep”, Bannah said to the media that time, “Several producers have contacted me after watching the drama. They (producers) want to make different type of movie with me. As a director, I think this is an achievement what was needed. I’m grateful to everyone, including my audience.”
