While the meme game gets pretty strong on social media after every movie or web series release, it no longer bothers Masaba Gupta and Shehnaaz Gill. They give two hoots to those who “mock” them for their work on the Internet.
Moreover, they make memes themselves, because they are cool like that. Masaba, who is back to entertaining her fans with the second season of her debut web series Masaba Masaba, joined hands with singer-actress Shehnaaz Gill for a hilarious take on meme game. The duo, in a promotional video for the show, can be seen making ROFL memes on varying topics - from relationships to one-sided love or crush.
The clip that has been shared by Netflix, on which Masaba Masaba 2started streaming on July 29, shows Shehnaaz Gill looking pretty as ever in a black and white co-ord set and sitting next to Masaba Gupta, who can be seen sporting an orange printed dress along with a matching blazer.
“If the world mocks us, why should we care?” Shehnaaz can be heard saying in the clip, following which Masaba adds, “We would make memes ourselves. Cooler and sicker.” And, they did indeed quite magnificently.
So, for the first scenario, Masaba Gupta and Shehnaaz Gill discuss how one would react “when your crush crushes you by telling you about their crush” and the Honsla Rakh actress comes up with the perfect reaction to the situation.
Next, the duo show us the perfect meme for the time “when you see your ex with the person they told you not to worry about.”
It is followed by memes for the times when you share too much information with someone new and when you send a “non-veg joke” to your uncle. Full marks to Masaba Gupta and Shehnaaz Gill for acing the meme game.
In the caption, Netflix has asked users, “What is the meme to say “Trying to become besties with Masaba and Shehnaaz?” Asking for a friend (us).”
The Netflix series Masaba Masaba is a semi-fictionalised show that is inspired by Masaba Gupta and her mother Neena Gupta's lives.
Apart from Masaba Masaba, the fashion designer has also starred in Amazon Prime Video's series Modern Love Mumbai.
