Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam said the investigation into the case filed on charges of crimes against humanity in the case of burning six bodies after killing them in Ashulia area of Dhaka during the July-August anti-dictatorship uprising has been completed.
He said this at the chief prosecutor's office at the International Crimes Tribunal on Sunday afternoon.
The chief prosecutor said that the investigation into the case of burning six bodies after killing them in Ashulia in the July-August genocide case has been completed. This is the first time that an investigation into such a case has been completed.
Two complaints were filed with the International Crimes Tribunal on September 11 last year regarding the burning of the bodies. Since both the complaints were identical, a case was filed afterwards. An arrest warrant was issued against former local MP Saiful Islam and several others in this case on December 24.
Although Saiful Islam is absconding in this case, former additional superintendent of police (Crime and Ops) of Dhaka District Md. Abdullahil Kafi, former additional superintendent of police (Savar Circle) of Dhaka District Police Md. Shahidul Islam, then OC AFM Sayed, DB inspector Md.
