Former national cricket team captain Tamim Iqbal has been admitted to KPJ Hospital in Savar after being admitted to the hospital. Tamim is currently out of danger after having a heart ring inserted. He expressed his gratitude and love to everyone through a Facebook status while staying in his hospital bed.
After falling ill on Tuesday afternoon, Tamim wrote in his Facebook status, “Two years ago, I went to Anup during this Ramadan. That day, I came to know that Anup's father could not undergo a heart operation even after 4 years.
“The heartbeat keeps us alive. But we forget this fact over and over again. When I started the day yesterday (Sunday), did I know what was going to happen to me?
“I came back with the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty and everyone's prayers. I am fortunate that during this time of danger, I found some extraordinary people by my side, with whose wisdom and hard work I came back from this crisis.
“Some incidents remind us of reality, telling us how short life really is. And if I can't do anything else in this short life, everyone should stand by each other in times of trouble - this is my request.
“I express my sincere gratitude and love to all of you. Everyone please pray for me and my family. Without your love, I, Tamim Iqbal, am nothing.”
