The traffic division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1289 cases over violation of traffic rules across the city on Monday, reports BSS.
The DMP traffic division filed the cases and realized fines as a part of its regular drive to maintain discipline on city roads, said a press release issued by deputy commissioner (media and public relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman on Tuesday.
At least 214 vehicles were dumped and 74 were wrecked during the day-long drive, according to the press release.
DMP officials said the drive will continue to prevent traffic disturbance in the city.
