The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has issued arrest warrants against 15 individuals in connection with the killing of Chattogram College Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader Wasim Akram during last year's Anti-discrimination Student Movement.
ICT Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam argued for the arrest warrants after a preliminary investigation.
The three-member tribunal panel, led by its Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mojumdar, passed the order on Tuesday.
The wanted individuals include former Chattogram City Mayor AJM Nasir and former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel.
Student Wasim Akram was shot dead by the Jubo League-Chhatra League men in Muradpur of Chattogram on July 16, during last year's Anti-discrimination Student Movement.
He is the second martyr of the July Uprising after Abu Sayeed of Rangpur.
