Mentioning that Abdullahil Amaan Azmi is not a member of Jamaat-e-Islami, the party’s Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar said Azmi’s statement about changing the country’s national anthem is his personal. Jamaat is not responsible for Azmi’s comment.
He made the remarks on Sunday while briefing journalists after attending a meeting held at a Rangpur hotel.
Earlier in the day, Mia Golam Parwar exchanged views with the family members of the martyred during the anti-discrimination student movement and addressed the function.
The Jamaat secretary general said the reformation of the state is now a big challenge. The accomplices of fascism are still now working in the state organs. The reformation of the Constitution and the election commission is a must. All constitutional organisations, which had been made partisan, will have to be reformed.
He also called upon the interim government to hold a national election after completing necessary reforms.
