A compartment of a Chhatogram-bound freight train derailed at Azampur area of Dhaka’s Uttara early Monday, reports UNB.
Md Anwar Hossain, master of Kamalapur rail station, said the bogie veered off the tracks at Azampur around 4:30am shortly after it had left Kamalpur station.
Though the derailment didn’t halt train movement between Dhaka and parts of the country, it slowed train operations, he said.
He said a rescue train went to the spot and was working to remove the compartment from the tracks.
