A Dhaka Court on Wednesday placed Diamond World Limited managing director Dilip Kumar Agarwal on remand in a case over killing BNP activist Ridoy Ahmed during recent student-mass movement, reports BSS.
Court sources said Dilip was placed on three-day remand in the case lodged over the murder of Ridoy took place in front of BRAC University in capital's Badda area on July 19.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan passed the order as police pleaded for seven-day remand for Dilip, who was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion Tuesday night from Gulshan area.
Ridoy was killed as police started firing indiscriminately on agitating students and people in Badda area on July 19.
Shahadat Hossain, joint secretary of BNP’s Shibchar upazila unit of Madaripur district filed the case on August 22 against 161 persons including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehena and Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
