60 RMG factories shut amid workers’ protest in Ashulia

Authorities of the 60 readymade garments (RMG) factories on Wednesday declared their factories closed in Ashulia industrial area amid protests by workers over various demands.

Factories of both sides from the Baipail to Zirabo area on the Baipail-Abdullahpur road in Ashulia were declared shut as workers entered the factories in the morning and creating chaos.

Sources said industry police, army and BGB have been working to control the situation.
