Doctors have suspended their complete shutdown at all government and private hospitals protesting till 8:00 pm on Monday following the assurance of the arrest of the attackers.
Earlier on Sunday, the interim government's Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum on Sunday requested doctors to withdraw their shutdown enforced across the country, protesting the attack on physicians and vandalism carried out by relatives of a patient at the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
The health adviser made the request at a press briefing held at the Secretariat.
Two separate probe bodies have been formed to look into the attack on doctors and vandalism, and the allegation of negligence in treatment, she said.
Earlier in the day, doctors declared a complete shutdown at all government and private hospitals protesting the attack on their fellows at DMCH.
Abdul Ahad, a physician of Neuro Surgery Ward announced the programme at the administrative gate of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday.
They demanded the arrest of the culprits within 24 hours and ensure security measures at the emergency department of the hospital.
