Doctors have declared a complete shutdown at all government and private hospitals protesting the attack on their fellows at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Abdul Ahad, a physician of Neuro Surgery Ward announced the programme at the administrative gate of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday.
They demanded the arrest of the culprits within 24 hours and ensure security measures at the emergency department of the hospital. But the authority has failed to fulfil the demands, said Ahad.
Patients at Dhaka Medical College Hospital are suffering as doctors and staff went on to abstention, suspending medical services across different units, including the emergency and outpatient departments.
The work stoppage follows an incident on Saturday where a doctor was allegedly assaulted in the hospital.
