The coordinator of Anti-discrimination Students Movement Hasnat Abdullah said the protesters have no relation with the cases filed against former ministers, MPs, activists of ruling party, police members and government officials.
He told this to the reporters after meeting ACC chairman Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah on Thursday afternoon. At this time, he also said that the ACC will work independently.
Earlier, a five-member team led by Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah met the ACC chairman around 1:15 pm. At the end of the conversation, they left at around half past noon.
Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah said, "Extortion is being done in many places using our name. The case is being given by forging signatures. We have no affiliation with them.”
He further said, "We are getting reports that our name is being used to take advantage in illegal ways. They have no legal authority to grant benefits to anyone or to take benefits themselves.”
