Ban on Jamaat-Shibir lifted, gazette today

The government has withdrawn the ban on the politics of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir.

A gazette notification in this regard will be issued today (Wednesday).

Earlier on August 1, the former Awami League government banned Jamaat-Shibir, and all of its associated organisations as political entities under the Anti-Terrorism Act-2009 amid a surge in student and public protests.
