Siddiqur Rahman Patwari takes oath as MP

Awami League (AL) backed lawmaker Siddiqur Rahman Patwari has taken oath on Wednesday as MP.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath-taking ceremony at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

KM Abdus Salam, senior secretary to the Parliament Secretariat, conducted the oath-taking ceremony.

Siddiqur has been elected Member of Parliament (MP) unopposed as there was no other contender for the by-election to the Natore-4 constituency.

The Natore-4 (Gurdaspur-Baraigram) constituency fell vacant following the death of valiant Freedom Fighter and lawmaker Professor Abdul Quddus on August 30.

Later, Awami League (AL) picked Patwari to contest Natore-4 by polls.

The by-election was scheduled to be held on October 11.
