Information and broadcasting adviser Mahfuj Alam announced that visible steps will soon be taken to create over 100,000 jobs for students and young people, reports the Daily Sun.
He shared the information in a social media post titled “The anti-uprising forces are waging a proxy war” on Facebook on Monday night.
Mahfuj stated that a review meeting was held on the previous day, chaired by the Chief Adviser.
Discussions focused on preventing violence against women and children, taking a firm stance against banned organizations, and improving overall law and order. He reiterated the government's commitment to enforcing strict measures and noted that law enforcement operations, including arrests of criminals and swift judicial processes, were already underway.
Providing further good news for the youth, Mahfuj wrote, “The issue of creating 100,000 jobs for students and launching a national program for young people was raised in yesterday’s discussion. Visible steps will be taken soon. The government will maintain a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and extremism, and coordinated efforts are already in motion.”
The adviser warned that anti-uprising forces are attempting to destabilize the government. He highlighted the government's ongoing efforts, including price control, arresting and prosecuting criminals, strengthening institutions, and initiatives for the martyrs and injured of the July movement. However, he noted that resistance from certain bureaucrats, business groups, and media figures, along with the growing unity of anti-uprising forces, poses challenges to the government.
He wrote, "The government is fighting a battle against a strong domestic and foreign alliance that was defeated by the mass uprising. However, vested interests are trying to disrupt the unity among the people that led to the uprising. Preventing a confrontation between the military, political parties, and different uprising factions will ultimately be in our best interest.”
Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Mahfuj described it as an ongoing war imposed on Bangladesh from external forces. “A central control room is orchestrating weekly and daily actions of this war, monitoring every step. We must unite to resist it.”
He warned that the focus on state reform, justice for genocide and corruption, and rebuilding institutions is being overshadowed. “This government has created the opportunity and capability to build a new Bangladesh. That is why foreign powers are aggressively pushing for regime change. However, elections will take place on time, and before that, visible progress in state reforms will be achieved under the July Charter. The trials of murderers, rapists, and looters will proceed.”
