The interim government has decided to provide monthly payments to non-MPO teachers, ending their nearly 17-day sit-in programme in the capital.

Wednesday will kick start the process to gradually include all non-MPO educational institutions in the Monthly Payment Order list, confirmed Non-MPO Oikya Parishad, the platform of the protesting teachers, in a late night press conference on Tuesday.

The process will complete by May, as per the latest government policy decision, said Principal Md Selim Mia, chief coordinator of the protesters’ platform, at the press conference.
