Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid has accused Netanyahu of prioritising political survival over efforts to secure the release of captives held in Gaza, reports Al Jazeera.
Lapid said stopping the war had a political price, which Netanyahu did not want to pay.
Former Minister of War Gadi Eisenkot echoed Lapid’s remarks, saying that Netanyahu was seeking to bring back captives without making concessions.
Eisenkot, according to Israeli Army Radio, suggested that political considerations are obstructing efforts to reach an agreement.
