Hasnat Abdullah, chief organizer (south region) of National Citizen Party (NCP), claimed that Shahbagh has legitimized all kinds of misdeeds.
He made the statement on his verified Facebook post on early Wednesday, adding: “Shahbagh has justified all of Hasina’s evil work including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, Aynaghar, Judicial killings.”
He said: “Shahbagh was not built overnight and no one alone constructed it. The so-called civil society, intellectuals, bureaucrats, cultural workers, foreign agents, politicians, and athletes also supported the establishment of Shahbagh.”
He highlighted that Shahbagh took away all kinds of basic human rights, starting from freedom of speech, from the people of this country. Shahbagh also took away the right of people to live freely.
He further wrote: “After the mass uprising of 24, we want to ensure justice for all the injustices, misdeeds, disappearances, murders and oppressions committed in the past 15 years.”
“We hope that it is possible with everyone's efforts. Justice will be served in this land with the united efforts of all anti-fascist forces.”
“We are always vigilant to protect the spirit of the martyrs of July." Hasnat Abdullah wrote reaffirming his statement, “We are determined to ensure justice for all the injustices and oppressions committed during the past regime."
