A 45-year-old man has been hacked to death allegedly by his rivals in Bancharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Oli Mia, a former member of Salimabad Union Parishad (UP).
Md Nure Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bancharampur police station, said Oli’s rivals hacked him indiscriminately on Sunday afternoon at Tatuakandi village following previous enmity, leaving him seriously injured.
He was later rushed to the Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead, he added.
Police also detained two people and sent the body to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said the OC.
