Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed on Thursday said the Bangladesh army wants to work with the civil administration cordially to take forward the development works of the government.
“Field-level officers will get strong courage for this.”
Shafiuddin Ahmed made the remarks while briefing journalists after the third session of the ongoing DC conference at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
The Army Chief said the relationship between the Army and civil administration is friendlier than before. That’s why the Bangladesh Army is more comfortable working with civil administration than before.
Cabinet members addressed the various sessions on the third day of the conference.
They said deputy commissioners work at the field level as the representative of the government.
For this reason, this year’s DC conference and DCs proposals are being considered important.
State ministers, secretaries and chiefs of various departments and directorates were present at the conference.
In the first session, deputy commissioners exchanged views with the Defence Ministry and Armed Forces Division.
In the second session, deputy commissioners exchanged views with the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Information and Communication Technology Division.
In the fourth session, deputy commissioners exchanged views with the Law and Justice Division, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, and Ministry of Religious Affairs while deputy commissioners exchanged views with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Health Service Division, and Medical Education and Family Welfare Division in the fifth session.
While briefing after the session, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed said DCs have been asked to keep aware of cheating with people in the name of sending abroad.
Mentioning that no new bridge will be allowed without permission from the BIWTA, Shipping Minister Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said DCs have been directed to play an effective role in this regard.
