Nagarik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna on Wednesday said the current government would not stay in power till next winter.
“As we say to the old-aged people that they will die during this winter, Similarly, I want to say this government will not stay next winter season. The year 2023 is the year of ousting of Sheikh Hasina,” he said.
Manna came up with the observation at a rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club arranged to meet the 14-point demand to establish democracy and voting rights in the country.
The Ganatantra Mancha, an alliance of seven political parties, arranged the rally as part of a simultaneous movement announced by the BNP.
The Nagarik Oikya president said, “The government which has no money, which kind of government it is. Now the government is seeking beg from the World Bank, IMF and ADB. The government has no option to survive without begging.”
