Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) has urged the gold retailers to keep accuracy in their trading to avoid unnecessary harassment in business.
“If you say 21 carat, you have to pay for 21 carat. BAJUS will always be on the side of honest gold traders. BAJUS will take organizational action against any gold trader buy and sells stolen and adulterated gold,” Dewan Aminul Islam, vice-president of BAJUS, told a view exchange meeting in Bagerhat on Saturday.
The gold traders condoled on death of BAJUS vice president Anisur Rahman Dulal at the meeting.
In the speech, Dr Dewan said that BAJUS has been transformed into a strong organization since Bashundhara Group managing director Sayem Sobhan Anvir assumed presidency of the trade body.
“Country’s first gold refinery is being constructed by Bashundhara Group for the expansion of gold business in Bangladesh. When this factory starts, gold bars with Made in Bangladesh will be marketed. The gold of Bangladesh will go not only in the country but also abroad,” he said.
BAJUS executive members Reponul Hasan and Pabitra Chandra Ghosh, Khulna divisional president Raqibul Islam Chowdhury, Bagerhat unit advisor Sanjoy Kumar Bakshi and general secretary Niloy Kumar Bhadra were also present at the meeting while district unit president Shyamal Kumar Sarkar chaired over the session.
The central leader urged all gold retailers in Bagerhat for keeping unity each other for strengthening the sector’s footprint in economy.
