A US lawmaker has been captured on video invoking the atomic bombings of Japan’s Nagasaki and Hiroshima as an example for how to bring a “quick” end to the war in Gaza, reports Al Jazeera.
In a video posted on X (formerly known as twitter), Tim Walberg, a Republican who represents Michigan in the House of Representatives, can be heard telling a town hall that the conflict should be treated like the Japanese cities were during World War II.
“We shouldn’t be spending a dime on humanitarian aid. It should be like Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Get it over quick,” Walberg said.
