Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has revised the metro rail service’s weekday schedule for the month of Ramadan.
However, the train service timetable for Fridays and Saturdays will remain unchanged, according to a February 27 notice, signed by Ahsan Ullah Sharifi, deputy project director (public relations) for MRT Line-6.
Additionally, passengers will be allowed to carry a 250ml water bottle before and after iftar.
However, passengers have been advised to be careful not to spill water and are prohibited from discarding water bottles anywhere in the metro rail facility except in the designated bins. Furthermore, no food will be permitted on the trains, platforms, or concourses.
Under the revised schedule, metro trains will run from Uttara to Motijheel at 10-minute intervals between 7:10 am and 7:30 am. They will then operate at eight-minute intervals from 7:31 am to 6:50 pm, before reverting to 10-minute intervals from 6:51 pm to 9:00 pm.
For trains running in the opposite direction, from Motijheel to Uttara, services will operate at 10-minute intervals from 7:30 am to 8:00 am, at eight-minute intervals from 8:01 am to 7:30 pm, and again at 10-minute intervals from 7:31 pm to 9:40 pm.
