Tanifa Ahmed, the former coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in the capital's Mirpur area, has been killed in a road accident.
Tanifa Ahmed died in a road accident on her way from Chattogram to Cox's Bazar on Wednesday morning.
Umama Fatema, the organization's central spokesperson, confirmed the matter through a status on social media Facebook at Wednesday night.
Umama Fatema wrote in the status, “Tanifa Ahmed, the co-spokesperson of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement's Mirpur Model Police Station, has passed away in a tragic road accident on her way from Chattogram to Cox's Bazar. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un!”
“Tanifa has worked with honesty, dedication and integrity at every stage of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Her untimely passing away is an irreparable loss for us. May Allah grant her the highest status in Jannatul Firdous. Amin,” she said.
10 people were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a microbus in the Chunati Jangalia area of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Lohagara of Chattogram on Wednesday at around 7 am. One of the deceased was Tanifa Ahmed, a former coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement.
