Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Mohammad Tajul Islam, said, "One tribunal is definitely not enough. There should be more tribunals here. The government is also thinking positively about this."
He said this at a press briefing after hearing four cases at the tribunal on Sunday afternoon.
Stating that no conspiracy can hinder the trial, the Chief Prosecutor said, "You cannot provide any evidence of corruption in the trial of the tribunal."
Regarding the demand of political parties for the creation of tribunals at the divisional level, he said, "I should not comment on this. Political parties can express their demands. The job of politics is to think about the country. So, they can think about this. Considering the scale of the crime, the number of tribunals can be increased.”
However, regarding how realistic it is to spread it across the country, Tajul Islam said "the government will definitely think about that."
During the Awami League regime, a bomb was planted to kill a team that went to investigate the disappearance case, said the Chief Prosecutor said.
