Adviser for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Nahid Islam on Sunday said action will be taken against the officials involved in shutting down internet during the recent student protests, reports BSS.
He sounded the warning while talking to journalists on the maiden day of joining his office at the Secretariat.
Nahid said those responsible for the internet shutdown during the protests will face consequences.
The access to internet is a right and disrupting or shutting down internet services is a violation of human rights, he said.
The Information and Communication Technology Division plans to incorporate youth participation to fulfill the aspirations of the young generation, the advisor added.
